There is a growing need to equip today’s industry and organisational supervisors with more than technical expertise to successfully optimise workplace performance.
This need took centre stage at the 2026 Supervisor’s Summit: Holding Things Together, held on Tuesday, 15 September, at the Cipriani College of Labour & Co-operative Studies in Valsayn.
Hosted by Corporate Options in collaboration with Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies, the Summit focused on the operational importance of supervisors, reinforcing the key message: stronger supervisors help build stronger teams, and ultimately, stronger businesses.
In a press release on Monday, Corporate Options stated the Summit focused on the growing importance of supervisors in “driving workplace performance, managing people and turning organisational strategy into action.”
The Summit, which attracted representatives from major companies and organisations, featured a host of accomplished speakers, including Angelo Austin, CEO of Xtra Foods; Jarrod Best-Mitchell, Sales Trainer and LinkedIn Coach; Dionne Guischard, CEO of Families in Action; Leadership Strategist and Coach Charlene Pedro; and Melissa Pascal, Founder of Sulten Manufacturing & BLUEPRINT.
Spearheaded by Corporate Options Managing Director and HR Strategist Georgia Donaldson, the event highlighted a recurring theme. The release stated that throughout the presentations, all speakers emphasised the message that today’s supervisors need much more than technical expertise.
Corporate Options stated, “As the critical link between senior management and employees, they are expected to manage performance, communicate change, resolve conflict, motivate teams and navigate AI and emerging technologies—often without sufficient preparation for the people-leadership demands of the role.”
It stated the Summit explored “leadership and communication, employee wellbeing, professional visibility, mentorship, performance and the responsible use of AI, reinforcing the importance of investing in the people responsible for leading teams and delivering results” through practical presentations, discussions and exercises.
Corporate Options stated the 2026 Supervisor’s Summit reflected the organisation’s commitment to developing stronger leaders, teams and organisations.
