MINISTER of Health Terrence Deyalsingh says that unvaccinated persons account for 92.6% Covid-19 deaths.
Speaking at the Ministry of Health virtual presser on Wednesday, he said, “If you are vaccinated, you stand a much greater chance of survival.”
He gave a breakdown of the Covid-19 fatalities as of November 15.
Deyalsingh said 56 fully vaccinated people died as a result of multiple comorbidities but added that vaccination would not reverse Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD’s) while the rest of the 1,411 who died were unvaccinated.
The minister said, “Based on data from July 22 to November 10, 90.9% of patients in the parallel healthcare system unvaccinated.”
Deyalsingh said during this period, 576 patients in the parallel healthcare system were vaccinated while 5,726 were unvaccinated.
He said, “When you look at the mortality numbers and the gross number of persons passing through the parallel healthcare system, it was evident that the vaccinated do a lot better than the unvaccinated.”
Once again, the minister urged the public to get vaccinated.
