FOR robbing a man of cash and valuables, a Princes Town man was sentenced to eight years’ hard labour.
Christopher Thomas aka “Fingers”, of Buen Intento Road, was charged with robbery with violence when he appeared before a San Fernando Magistrate on Friday and pleaded guilty.
Police reports are that the victim from Gasparillo, reported that around 10 pm, on Monday, he was on his premises when two men, one armed with a knife, entered and began beating him about the body. The men then robbed him of a quantity of cash and valuables before escaping.
An investigation was launched into the incident, resulting in the arrest of one man and the recovery of a quantity of the items which were reported stolen.
Thomas was charged by acting Sgt Ramdial of the Southern Division.
