Police Foil Supermarket Robbery

SAN FERNANDO – TWO suspects have been arrested after police stop a robbery at a Chinese Supermarket in San Fernando on Wednesday.

The arrested men are from La Ro­maine and Mor­vant.

Police said four men armed with guns en­tered the su­per­mar­ket at Keate Street around 7.45 p.m. and an­nounced a hold-up.

A member of the public reported that four men were seen running into the supermarket and officers of the South­ern Di­vi­sion re­spond­ed. The sus­pects ran out of the su­per­mar­ket up­on hear­ing the po­lice sirens.

Police were able to apprehend two suspects.

The po­lice of­fi­cers who re­spond­ed included PCs Wood­ly, Che Beis­den, Aaron Ma­habir, Sandy, Su­jeet Ram­cha­ran.
