THE Ministry of Health will share all approved pharmaceuticals listing with the Customs and Excise Division and create an online portal with drugs approved to the public.
This according to Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe on Monday in response to questions from AZP News after a Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC).
Chairman of the PAAC Jagdeo Singh raised an alarm over the Ministry of Health Chemistry, Food and Drug Division’s failure to provide a comprehensive list of approved pharmaceutical drugs accessible to Customs and Excise and the public in general.
In a statement soon after, Bodoe said his ministry noted the comments made regarding access to the list of approved pharmaceutical drugs maintained by the Chemistry, Food and Drug Division (CFDD).
He said, “The Ministry confirms that work is currently underway to create an online portal with the list of registered drugs accessible to the public within fiscal 2026.
“In the interim, the Ministry will share the approved pharmaceuticals listing with the Customs and Excise Division to support effective regulatory oversight and enforcement at ports of entry.
“The Ministry remains committed to transparency, inter-agency collaboration and safeguarding public health through strong regulatory controls.”
