TROPICAL Storm Gonzalo is expected to approach the Windward Islands by late Friday into Saturday.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), in its 5pm update on Wednesday, stated that the centre of Gonzalo was located about 1,785 kilometers (km) East of the southern Windward Islands.
It was moving toward the west near 22km per hour with a westward motion at a faster speed expected during the next few days.
Winds were near 85km per hour with higher gusts.
Strengthening was forecast for the next couple of days with Gonzalo expected to become a hurricane by Thursday.
