THE parents of two young women who were murdered in Trinidad and Tobago recently have signed the authority of a petition created by the Candlelight Movement.
Randolph Bharatt and Candice Riley signed the document at the office of the Citizens Union of Trinidad and Tobago on Friday.

The bodies of both their daughters were found days after they went missing – Andrea Bharatt in February 2021 and Ashanti Riley in December last year.
Bharatt will be the first to sign the actual petition at a ceremony at Woodford Square in Port-of-Spain on Friday evening.
The petition is calling for more protection for women of T&T and wants non-lethal weapons legalised for women among other measures.
Also singing the authority on Friday were members of the Candlelight Movement including Phillip Alexander, Inshan Ishmael, Avonelle Hector Joseph, Jodi Mohammad and Kandace Bharath.
