A motorist discovers the body of a woman down a precipice along the Heights of Aripo just after 12 noon on Thursday.
Police said the body was in a decomposed state with its head facing down.
It was clad in a multi-coloured top with pink underwear.
Speaking at the press conference at the Police Administration Building in Port-of-Spain on Thursday morning Police Commissioner Gary Griffith said the search for kidnapped victim Andrea Bharatt was a rescue operation.
Bharatt, a clerk at the Arima Magistrate’s Court, went missing after taking a car to get home last Friday. She never reached.
The body has not been identified.
Bharatt’s father Randolph visited the scene just after 3pm and left shortly thereafter.
