A 19-YEAR-OLD man from El Socorro is now missing after bathing at Tyrico Bay.
Police believe that Samuel Somai drowned while bathing in the waters on New Year’s Day.
Reports are that Somai was bathing with a friend at Tyrico Beach at around 1 pm when he got into difficulties and disappeared underwater.
Help was sought by the friend and police officers from Maracas visited the scene.
Searches were conducted by several agencies including the Coast Guard which continued up until Tuesday.
Somai was bathing in Tyrico Bay while a yellow harzardous seas alert was in effect especially for the northern and eastern coastlines for Trinidad and Tobago.
Last December, another teenager Jada Wilson, 18 drowned while bathing in Tyrico Bay and her body was discovered three days later in Maracas Bay.
