MEMBER of Parliament for Chaguanas West Dr Neil Gosine, joined student athletes and supporters at the Chaguaramas Boardwalk on Sunday morning for the P&V Marketing Company Limited Interschool Dragon Boat Competition 2026.
Hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Dragon Boat Federation, the national regatta brought together secondary schools from across the country for a dynamic and spirited day of racing on the water.
The event showcased exceptional organisation and an energetic atmosphere, with students taking to the water to demonstrate teamwork, discipline, and fierce competitive drive.
The Ministry of Education was also officially represented at the regatta. Gosine acknowledged the Ministry’s presence, noting that it underscored the government’s continued support for youth development and the importance of extracurricular engagement in schools.
For the Chaguanas West MP, the event was also a personal one. As a proud alumnus of Hillview College, Gosine was on hand to support his former school’s team. He commended the Hillview students for their determination, unity, and strong school spirit during the races.
“This event highlights the tremendous value of youth sporting activities in developing character, confidence, and community pride,” Gosine said following the races.
He said, “I applaud the organisers for hosting such a well-executed competition and congratulate all participating schools for their outstanding performances.”
