TRINIDAD and Tobago is open for business, says Energy and Energy Industries Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal as he promotes the government’s efforts to make T&T a regional energy hub at the India Energy Week 2026 Conference.
The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI), in a press release on Thursday, stated Moonilal had arrived in Goa, India on January 28, to participate in the Conference’s Ministerial Panel Discussion: “Shifting the E&P Capital Equation: Attracting Investments and Driving Global Partnerships.”
The MEEI stated Moonilal took part in discussions with fellow Energy Ministers from the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Republic of Tanzania.
Moonilal, the release stated, detailed the role T&T was seeking to play in meeting the increasing global energy demands.
“Minister Moonilal highlighted the Government’s efforts to make the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago a regional energy hub and outlined that Trinidad and Tobago is open for business as the country seeks investments and partnerships to develop key projects,” the release stated.
The MEEI stated Moonilal outlined T&T’s political stability, local resources, attractive fiscal regime and the new Energy Accelerator Hub, as key assets in attracting investment.
Discussing the Energy Accelerator hub as a key tool in attracting investment through efficiency, it stated, “Minister Moonilal elaborated that the goal of the Energy Accelerator Hub is to improve the efficiency of processing applications and permits resulting in faster approval times, all while adhering to health, safety and environmental standards.”
Of Moonilal’s contribution to the Panel Discussion, the MEEI stated, “Minister Moonilal assured that Trinidad and Tobago will continue to monetize its natural resources to benefit its citizens and re-emphasized that the country is open for business.”
