A MOTHER and her one-year-old daughter were shot and killed in Moruga.
The shooting took place at around 7.50 pm at Indian Walk on Monday night.
Sachel Elliot and her daughter Nova Bereton died at the Princes Town Health Facility while undergoing emergency treatment.
Akiel Bereton, the child’s father was also shot and remains in critical condition.
Reports are that around 7.50 pm the victims were inside a car at No.2 Fort George when a man armed with a rifle emerged from a blue Toyota Aqua and opened fire.
The Aqua was subsequently intercepted while heading towards the highway by police officers attached to the Southern Division ERP.
Two suspects were arrested and an assault rifle was recovered.
The suspects were taken to the Princes Town Police Station.
