A FALLING gate has caused the death of another person in less than five days. This time a security guard.
The incident occurred at the guard’s place of work at the NWT Enterprises compound at Global Avenue, El Socorro early Wednesday morning.
Police reports are that Steven Noreiga, 40, was found unresponsive under the gate bleeding from a head wound.
Around 3.10 am, Noreiga’s supervisor attempted to contact him on his cellphone and wireless transmission. However, the supervisor was not getting through to him and then called the Barataria Police Station.
Noreiga was employed with Special Force Security Services Limited.
He is the second person to die this week from a fallen gate.
Earlier this week, 16-year-old Kareem Ali died after the gate at his home in Aranguez fell on him.
