BELMONT – POLICE discovered nine AR15 rifles and ammunition while searching a car on St Francois Valley Road.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service stated that on Thursday night a team of officers went to the St Francois Valley Road Plannings area, where they conducted several searches.
The officers stopped and searched a Nissan Almera, where they discovered a quantity of ammunition and two speaker boxes.
Upon examining the speaker boxes, officers discovered eight AR15 rifles unassembled along with 12 magazines hidden inside.
During a another search of a Nissan B15, another AR15 rifle was found.
Nine people are now in police custody assisting police with their ongoing investigations into these finds.
