The Law Association has announced the establishment of the Public Defenders’ Department of the Legal Aid Advisory Authority.
It will be headed by the Chief Public Defender Hasine Shaikh.
This was revealed in a letter to members of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LATT) by its secretary Shankar Bidaisee.
The letter stated, “This Department is expected to be operationalised consequent upon which both the public and the membership shall be notified.”
