LISA Shandilya, of The Chancellor Hotel, is the newly elected President of the Tourism Industry Association of Trinidad and Tobago (TIATT).
A press release on Sunday from the TIATT stated Shandilya was elected at the Association’s Annual General Meeting, where a new Board of Directors had been elected for the 2026 -2028 term.
Shandilya replaces Charles Carvalho, of T&T Sightseeing Tours, who had been elected to serve as Vice President.
TIATTA stated, in his outgoing address, Carvalho underscored the “Association’s priorities of advocacy, collaboration, sustainable tourism practices, strategic marketing, and the integration of technology to address emerging market trends.”
The release stated that Shandilya, in her first remarks as president, reaffirmed the TIATT’s commitment to serving as the “unified voice of the tourism industry and working collaboratively with public and private sector partners to strengthen Trinidad and Tobago’s tourism framework.”
The newly elected TIATTA Board of Directors for 2026-2028 were:

- Mr. Charles Carvalho – Vice President (T&T Sightseeing Tours)
- Mr. Michael Hooper – Hyatt Regency Trinidad
- Mr. Olivier Maumaire – Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre
- Mr. Barry Bidaisee – The Cascadia Hotel & Conference Centre
- Ms. Alyssa Aleong – Paria Suites Hotel
- Ms. Brenda Cozier – Kapok Hotel
- Mr. Emmanuel Baah – Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago
- Mr. Raj Maharaj – Serta Caribbean
