THE Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection in Tobago has taken steps to address the discrepancies identified in the Auditor General’s Report for the financial year 2021.
The Division, in a press release on Thursday stated that it was important to note that the discrepancies identified in the report dated April 28, 2022, occurred during the period October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021, which was during the tenure of the previous administration.
The Division’s Secretary Dr Faith B. Yisrael and Assistant Secretary Sonny Craig have reviewed the report and advised the Administrator to critically review the Division’s internal processes and controls to ensure that they were comprehensive.
They have also advised the Administrator to ensure that the Division strictly adheres to the policies and procedures that do exist and to ensure that the Division develops policies and standard operating procedures, where they do not exist.
