FIRE officers were called out to put out a blaze behind the PriceSmart outlet at Mausica on Thursday morning.
Reports indicated that the fire broke out just after 10 am and also affected the Payless shoe store on the same compound.
Both buildings were evacuated and the scene caused a traffic jam along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway.
The fire was brought under control around noon.
