Moonilal said, “I congratulate bpTT and all the personnel involved in this achievement, as we work to strengthen gas supply to support our petrochemical and LNG industries.”

The Energy Minister said that the roots of the facility’s current success trace back more than a decade, crediting the policies of the 2010–2015 People’s Partnership administration under Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar for making the project a reality.

He said, “It is important to note that the work of the People’s Partnership administration in 2010–2015 under Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar provided the incentives and framework necessary to secure investment then by BP in the Juniper facility—a facility which is setting records today.”

Moonilal said that getting the most out of current infrastructure is crucial as the government seeks to stabilise and grow the domestic energy sector.

He said, “Maximising utilisation of existing assets remains an important part of our national energy strategy.”

Moonilal said, “Our focus must remain on sustaining production, encouraging investment, and ensuring that our natural gas resources continue to generate lasting benefits for the people of Trinidad and Tobago as we look forward to future projects.”
